Published in conjunction with the Jewish Museum’s 2016 exhibition, Roberto Burle Marx Brazillian Modernist is a book encompassing Burle Marx’s entire body of work as well as his influence in modernism. The exhibition and accompanying book were made to spotlight the landscape architect’s career to the larger contemporary western audience. In a conversation with Rita Jules, a senior graphic designer at Miko Books, Endie discussed Miko Books’ collaboration with the Jewish Museum, and particularly their decision to color treat the images within the book to convey the concept and aesthetic of Burle Marx. They also discussed the responsibility graphic designers have to keep their work on theme and dynamic.
